FAQ — VEITH Matching Solutions
Frequently asked questions and comments of customers and our answers
1. Our fabric is so bad that it will not work with the system.
Answer: Of course there is difficult or bad fabric around, especially powerloom fabric from India is probably in most cases not good enough to use the system to its full extend in a smooth process. But even for powerloom fabric the VEITH Pin Table will normally help to improve the fabric consumption, achieve better quality and reduce the needed labour time.
As far as mill made fabrics are concerned, fabrics are — according to our experience — much better than it is generally believed, with the consequence that the majority of fabrics can be used and processed on the VEITH Pin Table.
2. We are doing the matching manually and it works fine.
Answer: Manual matching can work, but it is slow, requires skilled workers and wastes material. The VEITH Pin Table allows unskilled operators to achieve consistent quality with significantly higher productivity and lower fabric consumption.
3. The system is too expensive for us.
Answer: The ROI (return on investment) is typically very short. Customers report savings of 2%–5% of fabric. For a production of 600 shirts per 8-hour shift, this means savings of 13,600 US$ to 34,100 US$ per year — per system. The system pays for itself quickly.
4. We don't have the space for a pin table.
Answer: The VEITH Pin Table is available in different sizes. The system can often replace existing spreading tables, so no additional space is needed. The lay storage system can even help to save space in the cutting room.
